SHAMPOO
A shampoo is a preparation of a surfactant (I.e. surface-active material) in a suitable form - liquid, solid or powder which when used under the specified conditions will remove surface grease, dirt, and skin debris from the hair shaft and scalp without adversely affecting the user.
Requirements of shampoo:
- It should impart a pleasant fragnance to the hair.
- It should not cause any side-effects/irritation to skin or eye .
- It should not make the hands rough and chapped .
- It should be easily removed on rinsing with water.
Shampoos are of the following types:
- Powder shampoo.
- Liquid shampoo.
- Lotion shampoo.
- Cream shampoo.
- Jelly shampoo.
- Aerosol shampoo.

v Compounding: The process of any large scale cosmetic production is called as compounding. In these process all the ingredients are mixed together in large, stainless steel tanks by worker and compounder. The raw materials, which are Filled in drums as large as 55 gallons. they are poured into the bank tank and mixed thoroughly. -Depending on the size and type of shampoo 300 gallon batch can take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours.
v Quality control check: After the batch is completed, it is sent to quality control department .This method is essential for determination of quality .The things like viscocity , colour , odour and other characteristic.
v Filling: The Filling line is a long conveyor belt. At the start of filling line, empty bottle are put into a hopper. The bottles are manipulated by machiene they move along conveyor belt and hold the shampoo By the capping macheine caps are put on - This is done by worker and speed of Filling line .The whole process can take min of house depend on filling.
